“ Perfect spot for a great lunch and very friendly service ”
“ Stopped by accidentally, but what a happy accident it was. Despite the large number of guests, we were served very fast. The waiters were very nice and friendly, and the interior has a cool vibe. We ordered some fish and a “vegetarian dish” (mind that the menu seems to be changing every day) and both were delicious. A bit weird that the vegetarian dish, consisting mostly of broccoli, was as expensive as the fish. Regardless, it’s a great restaurant! ”
“ Lovely staff, great location and decor, my favourite restaurant in Marseille! The food is beautiful - will absolutely be back … ”
“ A gem of a restaurant that serves thoughtfully prepared food and (importantly) ice cold beer. Attentive servers and a lovely inner city atmosphere makes this a must visit while exploring the beautiful city of Marseille. ”
“ The restaurant is located in Cours Julien which has the most happening food scene in Marseille. Among the several (rather diverse) restaurant options at my disposal, I went with L’escalie and I wasn’t one bit disappointed. I was interested in trying dishes from the South of France and opted for Patate douce and panisses. The patate douse was terrific and reminded me of this Indian dish called Aloo Chaat whereas the panisses reminded me of another Indian dish called kothimbir vadi which is made from chickpea flour and coriander. This one was made with basil instead and served alongside a lipsmacking garlic aioli. Really good except that it could have been crispier. Overall, I loved the vibe, the service and most importantly the food. ”
